Of course! Why in the world haven't I heard this before - make Aura of Holy Might a Dervish only skill. It's not like I have the ability to abuse Critical Agility (you could make Critical Agility work with Daggers only too) or have access to auto-penetration. It would give the Dervishes a much needed leg-up with the ability to do more damage than other professions with a Scythe and have holy damage.

Then, dervishes would once again be the best as using scythes, and would really have no critical need for any further buffing, because they would always have a niche as the best melee AoE.

That's actually a very good idea.

Another approach is to "nerf" AoHM by simply having it not convert damage types, so you can A) stack your conjures or B) mess around with necro buffs.

Oh yes, not converting damage so it can mess around with necro buffs? Make warriors and sins using it even more stronger? :x Right now they can't have nec buffs, so can't us, but if remove convertion, then they can use, we can use, it would all remain the same. The 8 seconds + 1 second for each rank of mysticism is a good idea. And if you do that, you can remove holy damage for necro buffs xD

Huh? Football (or soccer if you prefer) is a very popular sport widely played throughout the world. What is there to be pitied about being a fan of it? I don't see any link at all to a dervish.
On topic: Dervish are just not too well thought out during the its design phase. It's too reliant on enchantments for damage and health regeneration, and it lacks utility ALOT. No knockdowns, hexes or any reliable means to pressure and stop kiting. Hell it doesn't even have any daze inflicting skills for a melee profession. I'm not saying daze is a necessity but at least it can cover up the weaknesses cause by the aforementioned factors.

Agreed, still there are avatars, i haven't been using them for a long time, but now i started playing with them and i find them really good : AoM- forget about conditions, AoG- life stealing and greatly reduce chance of being blocked, AoL - huge energy pool, AoD- no hexes + healing, that leaves plenty room for utility.

Personally I'd like to see more melee utility for dervishes, stacking enchantments and casting avatars gets really boring really fast.

yeah but in the united states it isnt that popular only time it draws people there is when there is a hot looking person on the team.
dervish sure could use a little loving but its got to be done in a way that it limits other classes making it a secondary id prefer a change to mysticism and what it does for the dervish maybe move a skill or two into it pulling out a few of the ones that arent that good to another line

I've always said that the reason why they are wielding that big scythe is to compensate for something ...
Oh, wait ... you're not talking about THAT kind of dervish "lovers" ....

A derv isnt meant to be extreamly good at any one thing in particular they are a sort of jack of all trades. However NCsoft/Anet did give us dervs a little nudge towards slicing things up by giving us the second highest armor and the most damaging weapon in the game along with a kickass IAS (heart of fury)
